Homemade Raspberry Basil Ice Cream

It’s summer and cold or chilled food rules. Here is an alternative to overly sweet and fattening ice creams. (Good for a treat once in a while.) Raspberries are in season and available at your local farm stand.


*Makes 4 fast and easy servings. Make and then serve right away.

  • 3 cups sliced and frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped basil


Put all ingredients in your blender and serve. That’s it!

You can freeze leftovers, but it will get really hard. So, just take out of the freezer 5 minutes before you want to serve it. You can play with this idea all summer.

Cherries are coming in now. How about a few chocolate chips on top? Peaches with toasted coconut or almonds on top or melon with fresh mint. Have fun, stay healthy.
