Searching for Farm Land in All the Right Places

  • Saturday, September 22, 2018, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

**Registration is closed (past reg. deadline)**

Are you thinking of turning your farming dream into a reality?  Do you have questions about the viability of raising animal or vegetable products for sale?

Whether you want to start a new business or need guidance on how to navigate agricultural tax laws, this is the class to get you started!

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County (CCEUC) educators and local professionals to learn what a potential renter or buyer of agricultural land should know. Topics include evaluating soils/land, zoning, and infrastructure for various agricultural enterprises.

The workshop will begin at CCEUC with a brief introduction and presentation about land considerations and tax assessment information.  We will then visit agricultural land to discuss property considerations.  Lunch will be provided back at our Kingston office before leaving for the afternoon session, where we will visit a local farm already in production.

Space is limited to 30 participants. Pre-registration is required by September 14.

Registration includes lunch and is $50/person, or $40 for enrollees of the CCEUC Ag Program

**Registration is now closed (deadline has passed)**
