The 5th annual Hudson Valley Small Grains Field Day "Re-inventing the Hudson Valley Breadbasket" will include a morning field day/lecture session and an optional (space-limited) afternoon bus tour to a NYS-licensed, Ulster County-based Farm Brewery and Farm Distillery who are each learning how to secure local grain sources for thier enterprises. Participants can attend just the morning session or both sessions. This event is geared towards farmers, millers, bakers, brewers, distillers, and others working in the grains sector.

The field day is an opportunity to see grain varieties that are being tested in our region and learn more about production and current research from Cornell faculty, Extension educators and Hudson Valley Farm Hub managers. Cornell Cooperative Extension will offer multiple talks on small grains growing and participants will enjoy a catered lunch, and multiple networking opportunities. Full day participants will have the opportunity to taste both baked goods and craft beverages made in the Hudson Valley using local grain.
