Annual Hudson Valley Small Grains Field Day

in response to a surge of interest and market demand for local grains, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County has been hosting a Hudson Valley Small Grains Field Day since Cornell's first Hudson Valley regional trials were first planted here in 2012. This full day event usually occurs the last week of June or first week of July and focuses on viewing trial plots of various grain varieties and includes several talks by Cornell Extension on aspects of small grain growing. The day is always well-attended and draws in farmers and various other stakeholders wanting to learn and network about Hudson Valley sourced grains and grain-based markets.
