Matt Savatgy is a Watershed Youth Educator with the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program. He has been an environmental educator for nearly 30 years working with children of all age levels and has more than a decade’s experience as a children’s resident camp administrator. He has taught at the college level and has led numerous outdoor field trips, excursions and adventures throughout his career.

He specializes in implementing creative and innovative programs that connect people with their natural surroundings. Some of his recent programming has included: film making, stream snorkeling and snowshoeing.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and his dogs. He is fond of time spent in the mountains and on the water. Additionally, he freely admits to having a mild LEGO addiction. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the State of New York in Environmental Geology, as well as numerous graduate-level courses in environmental related fields.
