Do you have an hour a week to learn new ideas to stretch your grocery dollars and make healthier choices for your family? Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP) could work for you! Let’s talk about low-cost quick and healthy meals, and how to keep your family healthy and active. All you need is a reliable internet connection and an hour a week!

This online program is facilitated by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County EFNEP Nutrition Educator Marsha Sebro. EFNEP stands for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. EFNEP works with parents and caregivers who want to plan and prepare healthy, low-cost meals for their family, and learn ways to be more physically active. Our Family Nutrition Education Curriculum contains information that is based on The Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020 – 2025 edition. Participants will learn how to plan meals with MyPlate, receive healthy recipes, tips on how to stretch your food dollars, understanding Nutrition Facts labels, learn how to identify healthier food and beverage choices, food safety, learn ways to reduce consumption of saturated fats, sugars and sodium, and ways to increase physical fitness for a healthier lifestyle. Graduates who complete this 8-week nutrition series will receive a Certificate of Completion, “Let’s Cook!” cookbook with quick and easy recipes, and kitchen tools that support healthy eating.

This is event will run Thursdays, April 8 through May 27, 2021 and is offered at two different times 11:00am - 12:00pm and 4:00am - 5:00pm.
