The Water Connects Us program brings 10 NYC and Ulster County teens together to connect through the precious human lifeline of fresh water, and the Catskill streams that provide 90% of NYC drinking water. Participants will increase knowledge of the connection between healthy forests and water quality, develop an increased appreciation of Catskills ecology through native, riparian trees and plants ID in the Catskill forests, and identify indicators of water quality. They will share their knowledge, help the community, and develop leaderships skills through art competitions, community service and presentation opportunities.
