Introduction to Marketing Modalities and Leasing Agreements

  • Tuesday, January 21, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Are you a beginning farmer looking to buy or lease land in the Hudson Valley? Are you thinking about how to build and maintain and agricultural business in the area? Are you just interested in learning more about farming? Do you enjoy free snacks?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should attend the Marketing Modalities and Leasing Agreements program at Cornell Cooperative Extension.

In this two-hour presentation and discussion, senior educator Jason Detzel, will lead the group though some of the many topics that are integral to the planning and implementation of new agricultural businesses in the area. We will talk about evaluating land for farming, common lease and agreements and how to develop them, grant opportunities for beginning farmers and ranchers, how to avoid the most common (and costly) mistakes when looking for farm land, and last but not least, improving communication across your enterprise!

Myriam Bouchard a business consultant from the NYSSBDC is going to present and provide resources for those looking to improve or augment their business plans.
