Are you interested in raising your own chickens for meat or egg production? Join us for a valuable class on starting out with chickens in the Hudson Valley.

Chickens can provide eggs, meat, and fun! This class will go over everything you need to know about raising your own chickens for fun or profit including housing and feeding needs, health management, and weather and predator concerns, using mobile chicken tractors and egg mobiles, and more.

Class instructor, CCEUC Livestock Educator, Jason Detzel, has many years of chicken-raising experience with both laying hens and meat breeds of all kinds. Whether you’re interested in raising a few chickens in your backyard or starting your own chicken-based enterprise, this class will cover it all.

Registration deadline: January 22, 2019.

Fee

$20/person or $10 for Ag Program Enrollees; children 12 and under free with an adult
