The small ruminant school is geared towards participants with beginner-level livestock experience. The instructors will provide participants with an introduction to small ruminant care, including nutritional needs, general health guidelines, lambing and kidding practices and pasture management instruction. Optional breakout sessions at 3:30pm will feature ‘five-point check’/body scoring, tubing and intraperitoneal (IP) injections, birthing stations, and hay evaluation. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop computer if they have one.
Tickets are $25 each; discounts are available for large groups. Lunch included.
