Getting Started with Rabbits

Are you interested in growing rabbits to sell as food or breeding stock? Our guest presenter, Ashley Pierce, will review all the techniques and knowledge you need to get started with your very own successful and profitable rabbit enterprise.
At this class you will get an overview of:
- What to feed rabbits, and what not to feed rabbits
- Portable vs. stationary systems
- Breeding considerations
- Basic rabbit health
- The economics of raising rabbits
The instructor will be bringing live rabbits for us to learn from!
About the Instructor:
Ashley Pierce is an Agriculture Educator with CCE Albany County with a focus on animal science. She also has a small farm where she raises meat rabbits, sheep, broilers, and a home flock of laying hens. Ashley began raising rabbits on a homestead scale with pellets only to supplement her family’s diet, but has worked to increase her number of breeding stock, fine-tuned the homemade feed and pasture based rabbit raising system, and increased her customer base.
