At some point in every landowner’s life, decisions about what to do with their woods arise. Many landowners don’t sell timber or plan the future of their land often, which can make knowing where to turn for advice difficult. Get the information and advice you need at a free peer-to-peer landowner roundtable hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Ulster County.
It can be helpful for landowners to learn about their options in advance, meet local professionals in person, and hear about other landowners’ experiences. The Woods Forum will discuss the decisions surrounding woodland ownership and the importance of these woodlands to families and communities through:
- A short presentation by Ron Frisbee, Natural Resources Educator with the CCE Greene County Agroforestry Center.
- A roundtable discussion forum where landowners can ask their questions and get answers from other landowners and professionals such as foresters and loggers.
- A chance to meet with local conservation organizations including the Woodstock Land Conservancy, NY Forest Owners Association, and the Watershed Agricultural Council.
By bringing together landowners and conservation professionals, we aim to create a local network of contacts that can give landowners the support and information they need when they face a decision about their land.
