  • Friday, July 10, 2015, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Fly pests can affect animal health, decrease milk production and weight gain, transmit disease-causing agents, reduce grazing time, annoy and irritate animals, and more.  This workshop will help you to learn:

  • How to identify the most important fly pests affecting cattle and other livestock
  • Techniques to determine whether fly populations are at numbers that can cause economic injury
  • Options available for controlling fly pests including the role of dung beetles, the use of effective biting fly catching traps suitable for use on pasture, and what you should know about making insecticide use decisions.

Workshop starts at 6 pm and goes until dark.  Space is limited so register early (registration deadline: July 7).  Pesticide credits have been applied for in categories 1b, 10, and 31.
