CleanSweep - Ag/Commercial pesticide clean up - clean sweep NY

Deadline to Register for the Region 3 CleanSweep Program is March 26th. 

The Spring 2015 CleanSweepNY collection event will take place during the week of April 6, 2015 and will target the counties located in the lower Hudson River Valley in NYSDEC's Region 3. The collections will take place on consecutive days in Kingston, Fishkill and Middletown and specific details will become available to pre-registered participants when scheduling is completed.

CleanSweepNY services are provided to farmers and owners of former farms, all categories of NYS certified pesticide applicators, cemeteries, golf courses, marinas, and other entities possessing unwanted or unusable pesticides and other waste chemicals. Each participant is responsible for transporting their materials to the collection site.


CleanSweepNY Services are Not Available to Homeowners.

Free for pesticides, cost for other chemicals varies.

What can you dispose of?

  • Unwanted or unusable pesticides
  • School laboratory chemicals
  • elemental mercury and mercury containing devices such as thermometers
  • Triple-rinsed HDPE #2 plastic containers
  • Compressed gas cylinders (which must be preregistered and identified)

No charge for pesticides

How to Participate

PRE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  All participants must return completed registration forms to NYSDEC by March 26, 2015

To Pre-register: contact: info@cleansweepny.org or 1-877-SWEEPNY (1-877-793-3769)  Messages can be left anytime. Returned phone calls and replies to emails will be made as soon as possible.

On the day of the event, transport your chemicals to the assigned collection site.  Once there, stay in your vehicle and present the documents that were sent to you.

If you are bringing in chemical wastes that are NOT pesticides please be prepared to pay a disposal fee.
