Opportunities with Taste NY

Taste NY is New York State's Official Eat-Local, Drink-Local Program

Launched by Governor Cuomo in 2013, Taste NY highlights the quality, diversity, and economic impact of food and beverages grown, produced, or processed in New York State. Taste NY aims to create new opportunities for producers through events, retail locations, and partnerships.

Taste NY is constantly recruiting new food and beverage companies to feature at their sites.  These include airports, historic sites, parks, performing arts centers, welcome centers, travel plazas and more.  There are three main types of Taste NY retail locations:

  • Taste NY Markets:  Found in transportation hubs throughout the state, both inside regional Welcome Centers and as standalone locations, the markets boast the largest variety of New York made food and beverage products, ranging from fresh sandwiches and salads, frozen dairy and pasta, milk, yogurt, and cheese, to sea salts, sauces, gift items, and more.
  • Cafés, Concessions, and Bars:  Located within NY State Parks, tourism destinations, and entertainment and sports venues, Taste NY branded cafés, bars, and other concessions offer all New York food and beverage options for visitors, these include locally roasted coffee, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, cheese, cookies and other snacks, as well as beer, wine, spirits, and cider.
  • Product Displays:   Often found in travel and tourism hubs, such as service areas along the NYS Thruway, they vary in size and can include shelving, displays, kiosks or vending machines.  Product Displays offer a variety of products ranging from maple syrup, pancake mix, and coffee, to yogurts, cheese, and juice.
