I have lived in Shokan for 30 years and am a graduate of Onteora Central School District. I graduated from SUNY New Paltz, with a degree in K-6 Elementary Ed. with a second concentration in Anthropology, and a Master's degree in Reading. As a child, I spent a lot of time at the stream with my fisherman Dad, hunting for macros and minnows in vernal pools and streamside shallows. I was an environmental educator through my career during the summers, including working as the Nature Director at Camp Trimount. My career started as a classroom teacher, where I eventually taught students from every grade level, until I became a librarian about a decade ago. I enjoy playing music, gardening, and being at home with the chickens, the dogs, and my family. I am grateful to give back to my community in my new role as an Educator here at the Watershed Program.
