Max is a watershed educator with the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program (AWSMP). He graduated with a bachelor’s in environmental science from Mercyhurst University and a Master’s in Ecology from the University of Georgia. At the University of Georgia, he conducted research on how large-scale disturbance events (hurricanes and droughts) affect leaf litter decomposition rates in tropical headwater streams of Puerto Rico. While at the University of Georgia, Max taught several sections of an introduction to ecology lab for undergraduate students.

In his free time, Max enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and cooking.
