Leslie is a Program Manager for the Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program (AWSMP). She manages a multi-year contract with the City of New York and a stream management implementation fund (SMIP), in addition to supervising outreach program staff for the AWSMP.
Leslie holds a Master’s of Science degree in Natural Resources from the Ohio State University (OSU). She conducted original research on the relationship between riparian landscape ecology and instream biotic integrity. Leslie’s undergraduate degree is in journalism. Before moving to NYS, she was the Riparian Buffer Systems Extension Associate in the Dept. of Food, Agricultural & Biological Engineering at OSU. She worked with a team implementing watershed protection with an applied natural channel design focus and continues that work today at the AWSMP. Leslie was the Biodiversity Program Manager and administrator for the Hudson River Estuary Program with Cornell University’s Department of Natural Resources from 2001-2012 before joining the AWSMP.
