Staying Safe with Animals: Avoiding Illness when working with Animals

  • Thursday, October 8, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Recent outbreaks of Covid-19 and increasing incidents of rabies exposure highlight the importance of zoonotic disease education for local farmers and the general public. This webinar is part two of our Staying Safe with Animals Series and will focus on common disorders that are typically present in the fall and winter months.

This webinar will review the most common local illnesses shared between people and animals, best practices to prevent illness, and how to properly report and treat any occurrences. There are many different diseases that can be spread in contact between animals and humans. This is an introductory course and will focus on common livestock species as well as companion pets. The course is web-based and includes lessons, case studies, and online resources to assist course participants in educating themselves about zoonotic disease prevention.

The deadline to register is October 7th at 5pm. Participation is limited so sign up early to reserve your spot and receive the zoom link.
