Staying Safe with Animals: Introduction to Zoonotic Diseases and Animal Health

Recent outbreaks of Covid-19 and increasing incidents of rabies exposure highlight the importance of zoonotic disease education for local farmers and the general public.Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County (CCEUC) agriculture program in collaboration with Dr. Eleanor Acworth from All Animal Veterinary Services located in Modena, New York will offer a web-based course, Staying Safe with Animals:Introduction to Zoonotic Diseases and Animal Health, July 28th, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

This course provides an excellent opportunity for farmers and citizens to refresh and gain knowledge of key zoonotic diseases of animals. The course will cover the most common and serious diseases that can affect people and animals.This is an introductory course and will focus on common livestock species as well as companion pets. The course is web-based and includes lessons, case studies, and online resources to assist course participants in educating themselves about zoonotic disease prevention.

This course is part one of a two-part series offered by Cornell Cooperative of Ulster County Agriculture program.The deadline to register is July 27th at 5pm.
