We know it’s still chilly outside, but start dreaming. Luscious berries, extra-large asparagus, deer resistant evergreens, there’s something for everyone in this year’s seedling sale. Back again are our tried-and-true blueberries, blackberries, and red raspberries; they will be joined this year by June-bearing Cavendish strawberries, known for their hardiness and high yields. And we’re adding the popular Red Haven peach tree and since they are self-fertile, you need only one! Veggie growers will get a payback year-after-year from vigorous, disease-resistant Jersey Knight asparagus and vigorous Macdonald rhubarb (think strawberry rhubarb pie!). Finally, who can resist perennial daylilies and iris?? Our perennial plant bundle includes two of each species listed, for a total of ten plants! The deadline for orders is March 13, but act now so you won’t be disappointed.

FRUIT

Strawberry:

Cavendish is a June Bearing strawberry. A soil pH level of 6.5 - 6.8 is recommended for strawberry plants. Five per bundle.

Blueberry:

Blue Crop and Jersey are paired together (2 plants, one of each) to get you a nice yield. Soil pH level of 4.5 - 4.8 is recommended for blueberry plants. Blueberry plants bear fruit 1 year after planting.

Red Raspberry:

The Boyne Raspberry is extremely cold hardy red raspberry, richly sweet in flavor. Tender, juicy, dark red berries are delicious frozen, canned and fresh. Boyne Raspberry are very productive, strong, sturdy, summer-bearing canes reach approximately 5 feet in height when mature. They should produce 2 to 5 lbs. of fruit when mature. Two year canes. Sold as a bundle of five canes.

Blackberry:The Darrow Blackberry was developed at the New York Experimental Station to bring you the best in flavor and spectacular crops year after year. The berries themselves are exceptionally large and sugar sweet. One of the most winter hardy blackberries! Ripen early and continue over a large period. Sold in a bundle of two.

FRUIT TREES-

Peach: Easy to maintain and grow, the Red Haven Peach tree is fast growing, cold tolerant and drought tolerant. It is also disease resistant to leaf spot. With late-blooming pink flowers and a fast growth rate, this tree is a great option for fruit. The medium red-orange fruit is a great all-purpose peach that is great for snacking, canning and freezing. It has a sweet yellow flesh with a firm, creamy texture, and it almost fuzz free. This heavy bearing tree will product fruit you can enjoy year after year. Supply is limited.

VEGETABLES

Jersey Knight Asparagus:

One of the New Jersey asparagus hybrids, Jersey Knight is extremely vigorous, has large, succulent spears, and quickly attracts a loyal following. The flavor is excellent, and the plant is resistant to rust, crown rot and fusarium. It also performs equally well in heavy, clay-like soils.A soil pH level of 7.0 - 7.2 for asparagus plants is recommended. Asparagus plants produce a light harvest in the 2nd year, a larger harvest the 3rd year, and a full harvest in subsequent years.

Rhubarb:MacDonald rhubarb has vigorous upright growth, large tender stalks, and root-rot resistance. We have selected this rhubarb strain for its excellent production for commercial growers and home gardeners. This very vigorous, upright growing strain produces large, tender stalks and has acceptable red color.

Evergreen Trees

Spruce Deer Resistant Trees: 2 each of Colorado Blue, Norway and White spruce trees. Six trees total
