Friday, January 11:  Class for New and Aspiring Land Owners or Lessees

If you are a current or prospective land owner or lessee interested in better land management of open space or agricultural land, this class will provide information to broaden (or maybe narrow!) your perspectives on what is possible and practical.

Friday, January 18:  Berry and Grape Production for Beginning Farmers

Learn how to determine whether a site is appropriate for what you want to grow. We will cover a range of topics from using online tools for a “first look” at a site to basic site requirements such as nutrients, soil organic matter and access to markets. We'll also discuss business plans, and we will have a grower panel with time for Q&A.

Friday, January 25:  Livestock Production for Beginning Farmers

This class will include everything from keeping animals for domestic use to small and mid-scale commercial animal operations. We will cover production and marketing considerations for the most common livestock types (cattle, small ruminants, pigs and poultry) as well as the emerging possibilities of less common, though potentially profitable livestock systems, such as non-native species.  

Registration is $45/class or discounted price of $110 for the series. Register by January 9 for the discounted price!    

Space is limited - register early to save your seat!  Pre-registration is required by 2 days before each class.
