**EVENT IS FULL**

Donkeys are a member of the equine family, but are not just small horses with big ears— there are important differences in behavior and veterinary care.  Join CCE Ulster County and Steve Stiert, owner of Donkey Park, for a class on owning donkeys.  The class will be held at Donkey Park in Ulster Park, NY (specific address will be sent to attendees after registration).

Learn about the donkey's attributes and uses, and what is involved in caring for donkeys, including:

  • anatomy and physiology
  • planning for owning donkeys
  • housing and fencing
  • selecting the right donkeys
  • feeding, grooming, training
  • and breeding considerations
  • veterinary care and hoofcare

This class takes place amongst the “Little Brays of Sunshine”, a herd of donkeys and one zonkey(!), and will conclude with a 45-minute hike with the donkeys so students can apply their knowledge.

All ages are welcome - proper supervision of children is required.

Registration is $45 per person, and children 12 and under are free with an adult. Sorry, no refunds-if you cannot attend, please have someone come in your place.

All attendees must read and adhere to these important guidelines which apply to visitors to Donkey Park.

Questions?  Contact Carrie at 845-340-3990 x311 or email cad266@cornell.edu.
