Your meat should not be a mystery!  Join CCEUC Agriculture Educator, Christian Malsatzki and learn the different cuts (some inexpensive!) and grades of meat. Then join CCEUC Nutrition Educator, Janie Greenwald for meat cooking tips and a tasting.  This class is just one of many in the fall Kitchen Classes series.

Want to sharpen your culinary skills and enjoy your time in the kitchen? Just beginning to learn how to cook? Need some help to cook your favorite meals or expand your repertoire? Kitchen Classes provide safe and reliable information and are a completely hands-on experience.

Join Master Food Preserver, CCE Nutrition Educator, and professional cook of 25 years, Janie Greenwald in 2017 as she hosts Kitchen Classes designed to increase your enjoyment of time spent in the kitchen.

All classes are held on Saturdays from 9 am - 12 pm at our office, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County, 232 Plaza Road (Hannaford Plaza), Kingston, NY 12401. 


KITCHEN CLASSES SERIES:

CANNING PEAR RELISH - October 14
Learn how to safely chop like a pro, and cut your cooking time in half. Learn how to bone a chicken and prepare vegetables. Take home your chopped ingredients ready to go in the pot!

KNIFE SKILLS - October 21
Learn how to safely chop like a pro, and cut your cooking time in half. Learn how to bone a chicken and prepare vegetables. Take home your chopped ingredients ready to go in the pot!

PRESSURE CANNING - November 4
Have no fear! Come and learn this safe and reliable method of preserving. Participants will take home a jar of what we can in class.

CANNING FRUIT BUTTER - December 2
Learn the boiling water bath method by canning delicious, sweet fruit butter in class. Take home a jar of what we can. Homemade fruit butters make a great holiday gift to enjoy throughout the year!

CANNING CHUTNEY - December 9 
Learn the boiling water bath method by canning flavorful chutney in class. All participants will take home a jar of what we can - perk up your winter or give it as a gift!

Registration is $35 per class, or get a discount with 2 or more classes, or 2 or more people, just $30 each! Class fee is non-refundable and includes all materials. Space is limited - register ahead with payment to reserve your seat.
