The Weight of the Nation: Screening & Discussion

Join Eat Smart New York of the Hudson Valley Region and Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley—Kingston as we bring community agencies, health educators, school representatives and other professionals together to view and discuss the third film of the series entitled, Children in Crisis. We will examine the severity of the crisis, the major driving forces, and look at opportunities for agencies, organizations, schools and communities to fight the epidemic.

THE WEIGHT OF THE NATION is a four-part documentary series, featuring case studies and interviews with leading experts and with individuals and families struggling with obesity. The series spotlights the facts and myths of this urgent public health issue, showing how obesity affects the health of the nation and cripples the health care system – and what individuals and communities can do. Some experts fear this may be the first generation of American children who will have a shorter life expectancy than their parents.
